Performance Motorsports custom "frame-savers" for C5 Corvettes 2 ALUMINUM RAILS 10 COUNTER SINK PHILLIP SCREWS 1. JACK UP CAR WITH FLOOR JACK USING REAR SUBFRAME ASSEMBLY. LIFT AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE BEFORE FRONT VALENCE HITS THE GROUND. 2. PLACE JACK STANDS UNDER SUBFRAME ASSEMBLY NEAR RIGHT AND LEFT REAR A-ARMS. LOWER JACK TO JACK STANDS. 3. PLACE FRAME SAVER RAILS ON FRAME TO DETERMINE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES (SHOULD BE MARKED). REMOVE RAILS AND SCRAP WITH SCREW DRIVER POSSIBLE DRIED PAINT DRIPS TO INSURE FLAT SURFACE. 4. LINE UP FRAME SAVERS WITH REAR ALUMINUM AND THE RIVETS THAT SECURE THE FACTORY TIE DOWN HOLES. USING A DRILL BIT OR SCRIBE MARK THE REAR MOUNTING HOLE. REMOVE RAIL AND PRE-DRILL THE HOLE WITH A 1/8” DRILL BIT. PLACE FRAME SAVER BACK UP AND SCREW THE ENCLOSED SCREW TO THE FRAME. 5. USING A 1/8” BIT DRILL THE NEXT HOLE AND ATTACH SCREW. WORK FROM REAR TO FRONT, MAKING SURE THAT FRAME RAILS REMAIN STRAIGHT AND LINED UP WITH THE TWO RIVETS. 6. AFTER FRAME RAILS ARE INSTALLED REVERSE PROCESS OF JACKING THE CAR. TOOLS REQUIRED: 1/8” DRILL BIT JACK STANDS FLOOR JACK RECHARGEABLE DRILL. BEST TO USE A ANGLE DRILL PHILLIPS BIT FOR DRILL FLAT SCREW DRIVER ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() back |
